Nathan Carter will be playing this years ‘Rose of Tralee’ festival.

LOCAL businesses are being asked to dig deep to make this year’s street entertainment another resounding success during the Rose of Tralee Festival.

A collection will be beginning this week with the money going towards paying for this year’s  entertainment which features a host of top acts such as Nathan Carter, Gavin James, Stereokicks and Hometown, Hudson Taylor and the Riptide Movement.

Organisers are hoping to gather in the region of €100,000 from the hundreds of businesses in town in the coming weeks. The more they can raise, the better the quality of artists they can attract.

There is also also a new ticket structure being put in place for this year, with festival goers now able to purchase an overall street festival ticket for €25 that will allow them to attend all four of the main gigs on Denny Street. They will receive a wrist band to allow them access to all four of the main gigs.

This offer will also grant those who buy it, entrance to the Monday night disco taking place in the Dome.

This multi-ticket offer means that those attending can get into the gigs for  lower prices and it allows organisers to spread the cost of the concerts over the four nights more evenly.
