CULTURE Night may be nearly five months away, but Kerry County Council is asking anyone who wants to hold an event to get in touch with them and register it.

This year Culture Night falls on Friday September 21st from 5pm – 11pm and involves venues, groups and artists opening their doors and inviting people in for a taste of Kerry’s unique culture and contemporary art, all for free.

It aims to familiarise people with the cultural offerings on their own doorstep, in a relaxed, informal environment that welcomes everyone.

“Culture Night’s success relies on the contribution of many people and groups and every year there is a fantastic effort put in by all involved,” says Kerry County Council’s Arts Officer, Kate Kennelly. “We are planning ahead to Culture Night 2018 and look forward to putting together this year’s programme.”

Anyone who wants to hold a cultural event – dance, song, storytelling, visual art, traditional arts, music and more – on Culture Night is asked to register their event with the Arts Office by filling in a simple form available on Kerry County Council’s website by clicking here
