A STATUS Yellow Ice warning will remain in place until Saturday at 12 noon and motorists are advised to exercise caution on the roads.
The Met Éireann weather warning was extended this morning with icy conditions in some areas today and tonight.
However, in the Tralee area, temperatures are unlikely to go below two degrees celsius tonight, but icy patches could remain in some areas.
Showers are forecast for this evening and tonight which could make road conditions hazardous. Some of the showers could be of freezing rain, sleet and possibly snow, so untreated roads and paths may be treacherous in places.
