TRALEE and Irish team athlete Shona Heaslip was present on Thursday to help launch the CBS The Green annual 5k/3K timed fun run which takes place next month.
The secondary school is busy preparing for the run which takes place on Sunday, October 1 at 1pm. Both routes are fast and flat and suitable for runners and walkers alike.
There will be prizes on the day for the winners of both races, medals for all, bouncy castles, music, mass warm up, face painting and plenty post-race refreshments.

Registration is available from the school and also on the day of the run. The cost is €10 for adults and €5 for students and kids.
Over 500 runners took part last year and the organisers are hopeful of their return this year. The school is delighted to have Lee Strand and Foley’s Spar, Castlemaine Road backing them again this year as well as other local businesses in Tralee.
