PREPARATIONS are afoot for what promises to be a great day out for all the family at the CBS The Green 3k/5k Fun Run.
Taking place on Sunday, September 25, it’s set to be a repeat of last year’s huge success in raising over €3,000 for the Astro-Turf fund.
“Last year was a huge success with over 450 runners and we’re hoping to emulate that this year,” said teacher, Karen Tobin, who, along with fellow teacher, Helen Kelliher, are organisers of this event.
“It’s open to all primary schools, with the 5k and 3k events, so everyone from all abilities can take part,” said Karen.

“It’s in aid of our all-weather pitch which is in the middle of being constructed at the moment,” said Helen Kelliher. “We’re hoping that it’ll be up and running by Christmas for use by our students and for the greater Tralee area to use it for sporting purposes. We’re looking forward to a great day,” she said.
The cost of this event is €5 for children/students and €10 for adults. There will be plenty of prizes on the day while face-painting and a bouncy castle will ensure the small ones have fun too.
Registration forms are available from the school so call (066) 7145824 for more details or check out their Facebook page here.
