STUDENTS at CBS The Green have entered the world of banking with the help of AIB Tralee.

A team of students at the school has entered the AIB Build A Bank Challenge, which offers students in Transition Year & Fifth Year an opportunity to showcase their creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship.

Their ‘Bank 02’ has a main objective to recruit 200 new customers to the bank, to encourage them to open an account and start saving. They are also promoting recycling in the school and are using the slogan, ‘The Power Is In Your Hands’.

They also have a ‘Save Our Planet’ saving scheme and aim to help out Tralee Tidy Towns with litter-picking and other projects through funds generated through the bank.

Their bank will be open every Wednesday during lunchtime at the school and they will be assisted by AIB Tralee.

All competing students in the competition will invited to the AIB Build A Bank National Final in the RDS in March.

There they will experience an amazing day out, meet other school bank teams, receive proper and professional feedback on their hard work and ultimately be in with the chance of being crowned Build A Bank Champions and win €5,000 for their school. In the past Presentation Secondary School Tralee won the overall title twice.
