CBS The Green Students To Take Part In Science Olympiad

Former Science Olympiad competitors, Jerdie O’Shea, Seán Cahill, Gearóid O’Connor with Darragh O’Brien and Dylan Kildea McConnell who will compete in the event next  month.

CBS The Green students will compete in a national science competition later this month with a chance to represent Ireland.

Last year, three CBS students Seán Cahill, Gearóid O’Connor and Jerdie O’Shea were nominated to participate in “the Irish Science Olympiad” and this year another two students, Dylan Kildea Mc Connell and Darragh O’Brien were also selected to compete in the same competition.

The two students will attempt a three hour exam consisting of junior cert science, leaving cert science, and many more intricate topics. There are two levels, senior and junior depending on their date of birth.

Darragh will compete in The Junior Competition which is the Irish Junior Science Olympiad and Dylan will compete in the senior competition which is the Irish EU Science Olympiad.

Nine candidates will be selected to represent Ireland in the Junior Science Olympiad in Korea and another nine for the EU Science Olympiad Estonia (senior). The exam is being hosted by DCU and it will take place on October 24.
