“To win in our category was a great achievement as we were competing with entries on the National stage,” said a spokesperson from Spa Fenit Community Council.

“The success and exposure will assist greatly in the promotion and marketing of the Forge Project as a special tourist attraction. We hope to capitalise on our win when Covid restrictions are passed and we can welcome all to relive the ancient art of forging in the workshop and museum.”

“As the winners were decided by public vote we wish to express our sincere thanks to the families, friends and their social media contacts for supporting us with their votes. We also thank the many organisations at home and abroad who voted for our entry. We would hope that our adventure will encourage other communities and groups to embark on a similar journey and help enhance their rural communities.”

“Sadly, while we celebrate our success ,we remember a much loved and valued member of our Committee who passed away before we completed our development. We share our win with Denis Quirke and may his gentle soul Rest In Peace,” concluded the spokesperson.
