A SHORT ceremony took place on Sunday morning to remember people from Tralee who died in World Wars.

The Mayor of Tralee Johnnie Wall was joined by Cllr Sam Locke, Peter Locke Michael Lyons, and Dr John Chute — whose great granduncle Lt Chaloner F.T. Chute died in World War 1 in 1914 — at the Munster Fusiliers monument at Ballymullen.

Fr Tadhg Fitzgerald read the Jewish prayer ‘We Remember Them’, while a lone bagpiper also played at the ceremony which is held annually, but has been scaled back this year and last year due to COVID.
