A LOCAL facility was the beneficiary of two events earlier this year involving the Chain Gang Cycling Club.

A cheque for €5,500 was presented to representatives from the Alzheimer Society’s Rosemary Centre in Caherslee, which provides dementia specific, person centred care to meet the needs of the person with dementia in a warm, welcoming and safe environment while providing support and stimulation.

Sporting legends Sean Kelly and Sonia O’Sullivan were among the masses taking part in the event which raised funds for Make-A-Wish Ireland, Seeking Vision, and The Alzheimer Society’s Rosemary Centre in Tralee.

The Chain Gang also did a Ring of Kerry Cycle in mid-June where around 70 cyclists took to the roads and raised more funds for the Centre. John Murray of the Club said they were delighted that they could help out the Rosemary Centre.
