The classic ‘Die Hard’ is coming to the big screen in the Omniplex in December.

YES, it’s only November, but some people are already embracing the thought of the festive season ahead.

With this in mind, Tralee Omniplex Cinema is cranking up a notch on nostalgia in a seasonal run of their popular #BringItBack classic film screenings which includes ‘Gremlins’, ‘Die Hard’ and, er, ‘Goodfellas’?!

#BringItBack is giving movie audiences the chance to experience some true classics make their full cinematic comeback on the big screen.

Their Christmas series begins a tad early on Monday, November 27 with the 1984 comedy fantasy ‘Gremlins’.

For the initiated, it tells the story of  young man who receives a strange but cute little mogwai called Gizmo as a Christmas gift that comes with three conditions.

When things go wrong, Gizmo spawns other destructive little creatures and a series of events see the gremlins unleashing havoc on Christmas Eve.

While Gremlins might scare the little ones, ‘Miracle on 34th Street’ is more family-friendly fare on December 4, a Christmas classic that sees Kris Kringle put on trial to prove his authenticity following his claims to be the real Santa Claus.

Yippee-ki-yay people, as the action thriller ‘Die Hard’ comes to the big screen Monday, December 11,  with the bullet-dodging shenanigans of John McClane in Nakatomi Plaza.

A family favourite, ‘Home Alone’, is the offering on December 18, when Kevin McCallister outwits two conmen to protect his family home.

Finally, ‘Goodfellas’ has nothing to do with Christmas, but any excuse to watch one of the greatest films of all time is fine by us (unless you count the Christmas scene in it – see below). It’s on the big screen on Wednesday, December 27. Tickets for each screening are priced at €8.  For tickets and more details visit www.omniplex.ie
