Last Sunday, in glorious sunshine, the Juvenile club hosted the annual Siobhan Cotter Tournament. Teams from Ballymac, Austin Stacks and John Mitchels along with Churchill, competed for the Siobhan Cotter Cup, won last year by Ballymac. The U7s, U8s, U9s and U10s from each club played each other on a round-robin basis. The games were played in an excellent spirit and the skill levels on display by all teams were of an extremely high standard.

Once all the matches were completed, the points were tallied and for the second year in a row, Ballymac emerged victorious, with Austin Stacks picking up the Shield. Sinead, Siobhan’s sister, presented the Cup to the winning Ballymac captain, on behalf of the Cotter family.

The club would like to thank all the teams and their mentors for their participation and would like to congratulate Ballymac and Stacks on their success. We would also like to thank all the local mentors and volunteers who ensured yet another successful and enjoyable tournament. We look forward to welcoming back the teams next year and regaining the Cup from Ballymac! To all the young Churchill players from U6 to U10, we would like to say well done to you all for your commitment to training throughout the year – your skill levels are excellent, as could be seen on Sunday. While training is finished for the year, remember to keep practicing at home and we look forward to seeing you all back again next year.

Up Churchill!

Sympathies

It was with deep regret and sadness that the club learned of the death of Rose Morgan Tralee mother of Mary and grandmother of senior players Michael and Shaun.
