U10 Girls: What a fantastic morning we had last Sunday playing against Keirns O’Rahillys in Ballyricard Park. Our u10’s were absolutely brilliant. Their energy, skills and fight for every ball was a joy to watch.

We are going to have a very exciting summer ahead with this bunch. Emma Gaynor led the team as captain and you couldn’t pick a girl of the match. Sarah, Evie and Emma were outstanding and led by example, but this was an overall team performance, which is most pleasing. Abbey, Louise, Sadabh and Cora were really impressive with Abbey and Ava threatening up front …. well done everyone.

U12 Boys: Churchill v Rathmore Division 2 Sunday 28th April

Our U12 green team had another great performance on Sunday afternoon. Against a strong breeze in the first half they played the better football but conceded 3 goals to leave it 0-6 to 3-5 at half time.

We were very positive at half time with a breeze behind us. We had most of possession in the 2nd half and increased our work rate, however decision making up front left us down in the 3rd quarter.

With a bit more composure we could have seriously had a good chance of winning this one. The work rate and tackling was most pleasing. Final score Churchill 1-16 Rathmore 5-13

U12 black team had a great performance tonight. They were down 1-2 to 4-2 at half time against a strong breeze but played superb football in the 2nd half to draw the game 3-9 to 5-3. We were short a few players so the team showed great heart to dig out a draw.

Summer Variety Show: Our Churchill GAA Summer Variety Show takes place this May Bank Holiday Sunday in Ballyroe Heights Hotel. Check out our dedicated Facebook page “Churchill GAA Summer Variety Show” for more details and to meet the Acts.

This is our main fundraising event for the summer and contributes heavily to the running of the club and its facilities which benefits our Academy u6 to u10, our u12, u14 & u16 girls and boys teams and our minor and senior teams.

With the capital investment to develop facilities in Churchill for our increasing numbers these fundraisers are crucial to supplement our membership to manage our day to day expenses. The show will have local and county participants in drama, music and song followed by a disco late into the night.

It is a great opportunity for parishioners, both new and old, to get together for a great social evening of fun.  Tickets are €20 each and we really appreciate and value your support.

Congratulations: Well done to Maurice Lenihan, Ryan Hickey and Hugh Lenihan who won the St Brendan’s U13 Club Skills Competition 2019 on Tuesday and came third in the Kerry U13 Club Skills Competition in Austin Stack Park on Thursday evening.

Congratulations also to Churchill U13 & U14 players from the Spa/Fenit/Barrow Community Games Spikeball team that won gold in Glenbeigh and go onto the Munster Finals in July.

Seniors: Our senior team have a couple of weeks off after Championship Football, but are back in action away to Duagh in the Co League on the weekend of 12th May, followed two weeks later on the 26th May at home to Castlegregory.

Churchill B team will kick off their season in the middle of May, with fixtures and leagues to be finalised in the coming week.
