The Juvenile Academy for U6, U8 & U10 starts on Sunday 6th March in Tralee Sports Complex from 11am -12. Each child is to bring water, gum shield and 2 euro. Training is on Astro Turf so suitable footwear, such as runners or multi-stud boots should be worn. Any new members who haven’t yet registered are welcome to join up on the day.

Seniors:

The senior team had a hard fought win over neighbours Ardfert in Churchill on Sunday afternoon. Churchill started well with two early points from Ivan Parker, before Ardfert settled into the game and took the lead with a string of points.

Churchill struck back with a Parker goal and the two teams went into the break level at 1-04 to 0-07. Churchill started brightly in a physical second half with a few points before Ardfert struck for their first goal. Churchill responded well with a goal from Fiachra Griffin and stretched into a lead with further points from Parker and Mike O’Brien.

Ardfert struck for their second goal late in the game, but Churchill held out for a deserved victory 2-12 – 2-11. Best for Churchill were Karl Sheehy, Mitchell Holland and scorer in chief, Ivan Parker. The new pitch was in perfect condition despite the recent inclement weather and is a credit to the club and the community.

Minors:

Churchill 1-10 – Castleisland Desmonds 1-10

Our minor team earned a well-deserved draw in our opening round of the county league played in Castleisland last Sunday morning. Due to injuries and work/school commitments we travelled with 13 players who showed tremendous character throughout and were very unlucky to have not come away with 2 points. Round 2 is against Moyvane/Tarbert next Saturday at 4pm in Churchill.
