rsz_1churchill_gaa_2LOTTO: There was no winner of the lotto Jackpot of €2,500 held on Friday last in the Oyster Tavern. The numbers drawn were 2 – 5 – 9 – 17. Lucky Dip Winners were Carol McGlynn, Listrim €50, Phil Kelly, Scrahan Cross, James O’Sullivan, Ballyard and Nora Kearney, Caherslee, €25 each.

U12: On Sunday, both our teams were in action against St Senans. In the A game we came out on top in a very close game against a very good St Senans outfit by a scoreline of 4-8 to 2-8. We had some fantastic performances all around the pitch but special mention must go to Ben Donnellan, Barry Hamilton and Eddie McCarthy in the backs who were first to the ball all night.

Oisin worked tirelessly in midfield with Cian while David Feeley and Dylan Ryan were showing for the ball in the forwards all night. The highlight of the evening was a ‘Gooch-like’ fisted pass on the volley from Dylan to create a goal scoring chance for us. Harvey, Oran, Cian and Billy worked hard all night too and Johnny’s kick outs were the catalyst for many of our attacks.

In the B game the boys put in their best performance of the season to win convincingly 5-10 to 0-1. The team has been improving week on week and St Senans were unfortunate to come up against us when everything came together on the night. David Chute made some great saves at crucial junctures. Gearoid and Ruairi held things together in the full back line while Darragh, Erick, Paddy and Billy won the battle around the middle.  Josh, Diarmuid, Kieran, the two Donaghs and Tom did a great job up front.

We are away to Glenbeigh on Sunday where we will do our best to win our third game in a row in the league. Well done to all the players. Training resumes on Thursday evening in The Spa at 6oc as normal.
