Churchill 3-11 0-8 Ballymac

Churchill Senior footballers began the year in fine style with a comprehensive away win over Ballymac in the opening round of the St Brendan’s league last Sunday. This was a solid workmanlike performance with some brilliant individual displays. The defence were rock-solid, conceding only 5 points in the first half and 3 points in the second half. Midfield were excellent with displays of fine fielding and accurate passing and the interplay of the forwards was a joy to behold. Scoring 3-11 on heavy underfoot conditions augurs very well for the future. The introduction of fresh legs in the second half helped to close out a fine win. It is worth noting that nine different players got on the score sheet. We wish the team and our team management of Shane Kelly, John O’Brien, Joe Rogers, Colm Duffy and Padraig Ryan the best of luck in their efforts to achieve continued success in this our centenary year.

The Brendans senior league continue on Sunday the 8th Feb@ 2p.m. with away game in Ballyseddy against John Mitchels. This is a very important competition as it allows the managment to try out different plays in preperation for the County League.
