Churchill 0-08 ; Skellig Rangers 1-16.
Both sides came into this game off the back of victories in the previous round and were looking to continue winning ways in a Division that is getting very tight at both ends.

Skellig started the brightest with two early points from Brendan O’Sullivan and Mike Keating, before Mikey Brennan replied for Churchill. However, Skellig, playing with the wind in the first half, outscored the hosts by 1-03 to 0-01 in the next 15 minutes to take control of the game.

Corner forward Diarmuid Keating accounted for 1-02 of this tally with the goal coming after he intercepted a loose Churchill pass from defence. Churchill’s Kerry U21 keeper, Eoghan O’Brien, made an initial point blank save but was powerless to prevent the rebound being dispatched to the empty net.

Both sides added two points each before the break to leave the half time score 1-08 to 0-04 in favour of the visitors.

Skellig, having played very direct football with the wind in the first half, changed tact in the second and worked the ball short and controlled possession for long periods.

Diarmuid Keating opened the scoring, but this was cancelled out by a fine point from Churchill’s Jack O’Connell. Both teams then went tit for tat with 3 points each, including two more for the impressive Keating and the other from corner back Brendan Murphy, with Churchill’s scores coming from Pa McCarthy, Mike O’Brien and Oisin O’Brien.

This was to be Churchill’s last score as, despite never giving up, they lacked the collective strength and experience of the visitors, who dominated possession for the final 10 minutes.

Skellig added 4 more points before the finish including scores for Michael and Brendan O’Sullivan and Ciaran Keating.
Scorers for Churchill: Oisín O’Brien 0-03, Mikey Brennan 0-02, Jack O’Connell, Pa McCarthy, Mike O’Brien 0-01 each.
