Juvenile Awards Ceremony: The Annual Churchill GAA Awards Ceremony will take place this Sunday 5th November in Ballyroe Heights Hotel at 3pm. We would hope that as many parents as possible will be in attendance.

This will be a celebration of the achievements of our underage players over the last 12 months, with special guests on hand to hand out medals and give words of advice to our young players.

U10: Our U10s took part in the final event of the year in the Austin Stacks invitational tournament on Sunday. This was a great day of football and we had the opportunity to pit our skills against some of the finest teams in the country.

First up we played Glanmire from Cork. After shaking off some rustiness in the first few minutes our players found their feet and gave some great performances to win on aggregate.

Next up we played Milltown/Castlemaine outfit, with whom we have had a few great battles this year already. This proved to be the case again and we came out with a victory again on aggregate.

Our final group game was against the might of Kilmacud Crokes from Dublin. These 2 games were some of the highlights of the year and we played our best football of the day. All the skills practiced during the year were on show. There was great blocking, passing, score taking and defending from every single player on the field. With one team winning by 2 and the other only losing by 3 this was the group decider and we just barely lost out by a single point on aggregate.

This left us in the second place final against Doora Barefield from Clare. With one team winning and the other losing we were again unlucky to lose out on the aggregate scores. All players can take great pride in the way they played and the attitude shown on the day was admirable. The mentors could ask no more as everyone gave their all for the green and black of Churchill. All players were presented with medals after the game and we would like to express our sincere thanks to Liam Lynch and Austin Stacks for a very well run event.

The mentors would like to pass on their thanks to all the players who put in so much work during the year. We would also like to thank the parents who came and supported the team all during the year. We would like to wish all U10s moving up the very best for next year. Our main hope is that all the players enjoyed playing the games and that they will continue to enjoy it for many years to come.

We look forward to meeting all the players for our final gathering this Sunday for the end of season awards.
