rsz_1churchill_gaa_2GAA: The minor team were unlucky to lose to Ardfert by 2 points in Churchills new pitch on sunday morning last.

This was a very good result as Ardfert are a division higher than us in the County league.

They will play Desmonds in the opening round of the County league on Saturday evening in Castleisland at 4pm.

The seniors lost to Na Gaeil in the Brendans league on Sunday last.They will play St. Pats on Sunday at 1 pm.

Reminder that membership is now due and must be paid by March 31st

Team mentors should contact Mikey Moriarty or Dave Buckley about booking the fields so as to avoid clashes.

Churchill Ladies GAA:  After a few years being absent, Churchill Ladies GAA Club was formed during the week.

This year there will be an Under 14 team, with the hope of expanding age groups in the coming years.

The committee is as follows: Chairperson: Therese Williams. Secretary: Ciaran Moore. Assistant Treasurers: Kathleen Hickey, Therese Williams. PRO: Ciaran Moore. Child Protection Officer: Kathleen Hickey. All support for the club and the Under 14 girls would be greatly appreciated, so if anyone would like to get involved please contact Ciaran 0873973675 or email churchillladiesgaaclub@gmail.com.

Churchill Ladies Under 14’s began training for the year ahead on Sunday at Banna astro-turf pitch. There was a great turnout of 16 girls, and the talent and skill level was fantastic to see. Training will continue this Sunday from 12.30 to 1.30pm in Banna.

The team is being trained by Ciaran Moore, Brian Tuite, Therese Williams, Mary Hanafin and Helen Finn. All new player’s welcome. Spread the word. Contact Ciaran on 0873973675 for any info. All the best for the year ahead. Keep up the practice girls!

Churchill Boys Under 12’s: Training for Under 12’s is now entering its 3rd week and will continue this Sunday morning from 11-12pm in Tralee Sports Complex. Hope to see ye all there. Keep up the practice lads!

Rowing: Fenit Rowing Club would like to thank all those who supported their quiz in the Tankard on Thursday night last.

John Murray done a wonderfull job as quizmaster. We would like to thank Brian o Sullivan for getting the spot prizes, Kevin Crowley for putting up the signage and Mary and the boys in The Tankard for providing the venue and the wonderful food.

Community Games: The local community games committee would like to thank the collecters and the people for supporting their church-gate collection last weekend.

Photography: Fenit hall was the venue for a showing of photographs taking by local man Jim McCarthy and was called the faces of Fenit.

Jim took photos of local families and had hundreds of photos on display.All this was done in conjuction with Fenit Development assos.

A huge crowd of locals and friends were at the opening on Saturday night.And for anybody that missed this event the photos will go on display in Tralee Library from the 20th of February
