IF you’ve been around town for the past couple of days you may have noticed there’s a circus festival going on.
Well it’s in full swing at the moment and there’s loads to see and do between Saturday and Sunday.
Today sees numerous events in town with children’s workshops at The Grand Hotel at 11am and 12 noon.

One of the highlights is Circus Siamsa, a variety show, held each year in Siamsa Tire theatre. An entirely new show has been created by Fanzini Productions bringing the stars of contemporary circus, street and variety performance to the stage in Siamsa at 2pm and 5.30pm.
It’s a family show but not just for kids! This year handpicked acts from UK, Italy, USA, Sweden, Belgium and France will come for one day to thrill, delight and amaze the lucky audiences who are there to witness this unique spectacle!

If you’ve walked through the Square you’ve probably noticed a big bird.

To celebrate its 15th year the National Circus Festival of Ireland has commissioned artist and sculptor Hannes Jung to create a beautiful temporary installation in the Square for the enjoyment of all the townspeople.
The official launch of The Falcon is a free event open to everyone on Saturday night at 8.30pm.
Sunday sees workshops continuing around town, but the highlight is the parade at 3pm in the town centre which closes proceedings and is a must for families. For the full programme of events for today and Sunday, click here
