Circus Festival Fun Returns To Tralee This Week

TRALEE will once again come alive with a kaleidoscope of colour as the National Circus Festival of Ireland (NCFI) comes to town from Thursday to Sunday this week.

Celebrating its 21st birthday this year, NCFI has 75 events from professional masterclasses to workshops for kids, shows in the Festival Big Top from Irish and international circus companies, a Festival Club and a parade through the town on the Sunday afternoon.

Speaking about the programme, Festival Founder Con Horgan, said: “You’ll be spoiled for choice this year, with shows of unspeakable beauty like NUYE by circus company eia to festival favourites Circus Siamsa and the festival club Renegade Stage, as well as a brand new show by Tumble Circus, commissioned by NCFI, in our festival big top.”

NCFI is the national showcase for contemporary circus and features a different line up each year of top national and international circus performers.  A completely unique festival to Ireland, it continues to set the standard for contemporary circus performance in Ireland.

Highlights from the fun-filled weekend include NUYE by Compania de Circo ‘eia’, Wake Up! by Tumble Circus, ‘For As Long As We Are Here’, Circus Siamsa and the festival parade to close the festival on the Sunday.
