SINN Féin Councillor Deirdre Ferris has called on Irish Water to bring forward the start date for the connection to the Regional Supply Scheme, expected to start in the Autumn.
He call comes following the loss of water to the Ardfert area for the second time in 36hrs. There were breaks in the water mains on both Sunday and Monday.
Cllr Ferris said: “Today I spoke with the CEO of Kerry County Council and the the Director of Water Services. I have stressed to them the importance of getting Irish Water to connect Ardfert to the Regional supply as soon as possible. The current service and the Autumn start date is just not good enough.”
“This is an ongoing problem that is causing constant inconvenience and hardship to the residents of Ardfert and needs to be resolved immediately,” said Deputy Ferris.
