CLLR Norma Foley will be the next Mayor of Tralee when Terry O’Brien’s tenure ends at the end of next month.

The Fianna Fáil councillor is set to be elected at the AGM of the Tralee Municipal District set be held on Friday, June 30.

Because of a voting pact between Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael and Labour, who hold six out of the nine seats in the Tralee Municipal District, they decide who gets the Mayoral position.

Since 2014, the Mayors of Tralee have been Cllr Jim Finucane (FG), Cllr Tom McEllistrim (FF) and Cllr Terry O’Brien (Lab).

Elsewhere, the new Mayor of Kerry will be Cllr John Sheahan (FG) from Killarney who will take over from Cllr Michael O’Shea (FF). The new Mayor of Killarney will be Niall Kelleher (FF) and John Lucid (FF) will be Mayor of Listowel.
