Cllr Michael Cahill.

A KERRY County Councillor has called on Irish Water to immediately clarify their position with regard to charging commercial customers during a period when their businesses did not operate.

Fianna Fail Councillor Michael Cahill said; “The Lockdown of homes and businesses due to the Covid-19 pandemic has been with us here in Ireland since early March 2020. During this time, many pubs, hairdressers, B&B’s, etc, have been instructed by the Government to ‘close up shop’ in the interest of Health and Safety.”

“This they did,” said Councillor Cahill, “with the subsequent loss of income they inevitably suffered. These businesses are liable to pay Water Charges due to the fact that they are a commercial entity. Should it not follow therefore, that if they are required to cease trading, that they, in turn not be charged by Irish Water as they are not availing of their product i.e. water?” asked the Councillor.

“However, bills have issued this week, from Irish Water, to local businesses covering some of the period of the Lockdown. I am calling on Irish Water to immediately clarify their position with regard to charging commercial customers during a period when their businesses did not operate,” stated Cllr Cahill.

Fianna Fail is back to business of breaking Ireland as usual!

Ireland will give 16 billion to the EU and get 1.5 billion in return.

If you are a Fianna Fail voter you need your head tested.
