Cllr Wants Street Lighting Issues Addressed In Areas Of Tralee

COUNCILLOR Mikey Sheehy has urged Kerry County Council and the ESB to address lighting issues at Mounthawk, Caherslee and Killerisk in the wake of Storm Barra.

The Fianna Fáil Cllr said the storm last week has left its mark on certain areas of the Tralee Municipal District with road lighting in the Mounthawk and Killerisk areas affected.

“Daylight hours are limited given the time of year and it’s absolutely essential that road lighting in all areas are repaired as soon as possible,” he said.

“Mounthawk and Killerisk are high volume traffic and footfall areas and it’s paramount that lighting is restored especially in the vicinity of pedestrian crossings”.

Councillor Sheehy has expressed huge thanks to all the teams working in he wake of the storm.

“Kerry County Council, ESB and contracting crews have done an incredible job in restoring access and power to extremely challenging and remote areas of Kerry. Every resource must now be afforded to them to address remaining issues. “
