A TRALEE councillor has asked is it possible to create a ‘Christmas Experience’ in the Town Park this December.

Cllr Toireasea Ferris made the request to the Council at the meeting of Tralee Municipal District councillors on Tuesday.

She said people flock to Killarney and Fota Island in Cork for similar events and different stakeholders could come together to create such an experience in the Town Park.

She said Catherine Dolan had suggested such an idea at the Tralee public meeting the previous night in the KDYS.

Cllr Ferris said the the Town Park, the Kerry County Museum and the Santa Claus from CH Chemists could come together to create a “magical experience” over a day or weekend this December to keep business local.

“You couldn’t go anywhere in the world to beat the Santa Claus that CH provides for young people in this county and the magical experience there,” she said. Council Management made no reply to the request.
