Coffee Morning In Memory Of Máiréad Raises Over €1,000 For Kerry Hospice

FRIENDS and colleagues of a young woman who passed away in the summer, raised over €1,000 for Kerry Hospice after they held a fundraising event in her memory.

Mairead Cussen was just 37 years old when she died at the Palliative Care Unit at UHK on July 27.

The married mother of two from Broadford worked at Enable Ireland in Mungret, Limerick city and her colleagues organised the coffee morning in late October in her memory.

They raised €1,013.30 on the day and presented the cheque to Mary Shanahan and Joe Hennebery of Kerry Hospice on Tuesday at the Palliative Care Unit.

“It was a fantastic amount to raise from a coffee morning and we just want to thank the ladies for organising the event. Every donation counts,” said Joe.
