The ‘KY Comedy Alternative’ will hold a new competition.

IF you have ever fancied yourself a potential stand-up comedian, then look no further than the new competition by the KY Comedy Alternative Comedy Club.

The group will be launching their new event, aptly named “How many Kerrymen does it take to win a stand up comedy competition?” on Friday, June 12 in the Abbey Inn.

There they will be offering the chance for amateur/first time comedians to get on stage in a bid to win a place in the Rose of Tralee festival entertainment line-up.

Comics will be given between 3-5 minutes on stage where they can talk/sing/rap about a subject matter of their own choosing. There will then be a panel of judges on hand, including Danny Leane Jr and Radio Kerry’s  Brendan Fuller who will judge the performance.

Round 1 will be held on the night of June 12, with the winners from this progressing through the next round that will be held sometime in July.

The overall winner of this competition will be then given the opportunity to perform alongside one of the top comedians in the country when they perform during the Rose Of Tralee Festival in August.

If you would like any more information on this opportunity, then you can contact the club on their Facebook page here.
