THE local community in Ardfert and beyond have rallied around the family of 11 year old Aoibheann Duffy who died after a road traffic collision while cycling her bike near Abbeydorney on Monday.
In response to the tragedy, members of the Ardfert community set up a gofundme page as a show of support for her heartbroken family, her parents Nuala and Patrick and siblings Michael, Katie, Gavin, Ruth, Michaela and Daniel.

The message on the gofundme page (which can be accessed by clicking here) states: “Adored by her family and all who knew her, Aoibheann was an out going, fun loving child who always had a smile for everyone she met.
In Aoibheann’s 11 short years she brought joy and happiness wherever she went. Aoibheann’s passing is the second tragedy in her family in just five months, with her adored baby niece Sofia passing away in December. Aoibheann will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all in the community.”
