THE charity Console owed €12,500 in rent to the McAuley Centre in Balloonagh according to an unpublished dossier presented to interim CEO, David Hall, the night before the charity’s liquidation in the high court last week.

The building is owned by the Catholic Diocese of Kerry and is on the same grounds as Scoil Eoin National School.

The Irish Independent reports that earlier this month, the office of the Bishop of Kerry contacted Console about the sum. The Console premises in Balloonagh opened in 2013 and expanded with two more rooms in October last year.

The services previously provided by Console have transferred to Pieta House. The contact details for counselling centres remains the same.

Console operated full-time counselling centres in Dublin, Limerick, Cork, Wexford, Galway, Kerry, Kildare, Athlone and Mayo as well as a recently opened service in London.
