THE carpark at one of Tralee’s most popular scenic spots has been closed to the public.
The gardaí were a regular presence at the Lock Gates area past Lohercannan at the weekend and had to turn vehicles away from parking there.
It’s a very popular spot to park and take a walk down the canal or out to Cockleshell and has obviously proved too popular during the spell of fine weather.
Barriers were erected by the Council on Wednesday morning to prevent cars entering the car park, but there is still access for walkers and cyclists getting their daily exercise within 2km of their homes.
