THE Kerry Local Coordination Group met again at County Buildings today to review preparations for the cold weather conditions expected over the coming days with regard to weather advisories issued by Met Éireann.
The salting of major routes across the county will continue as required in the coming days. Motorists and pedestrians are advised to be cautious whether routes have been treated or not and to proceed with care.
As a precaution, Kerry County Council is placing supplies of grit at dozens of locations around the county over the course of the next 24 hours. Members of the public are asked to use this grit only where urgently required.

The Group has reminded members of the public to look in on elderly or vulnerable neighbours to ensure they have adequate heating and food supplies for a few days.
