TRALEE Chamber have been advised that contractors for Kerry County Council are undertaking surface treatment to the Square & Abbey Plaza tomorrow, Sunday, November 22.

Every effort is being made to minimise disruption, but it will mean there will be no through traffic in the Square/Abbey Plaza and there will be some restrictions/diversions of pedestrians from various points during the day.

Short diversions will be in place for pedestrians between the Abbey and Tesco Carparks and access to and from the town centre. Car traffic will not be interrupted there.

The work will be undertaken in sections throughout the day, which will mean each building along the Square and Abbey Plaza will have limited or no access during their section being undertaken.

The intent is to have the Square completed by noon, and then move to the Abbey Plaza section.

Kerry County Council have apologised for the short notice, but have engaged with Tralee Chamber since yesterday evening to inform as many members of the public as possible.

Through these discussions, Tralee Chamber agreed with the Council’s decision to sieze the brief opportunity to undertake the works this Sunday.
