AN amazing endurance challenge is being held in September to raise much needed funds for the ‘Kerry Cancer Support Group’ and they need your help.

The ‘54321’ Challenge is about teams of five people, over four days doing three cycles and hiking two mountains for this one cause.

The arduous challenge is all set to  take place from September 10 to the September 30, inclusive, and will include the following:

Day 1 (Sept 10th) – Cycle the Ring of Kerry.
Day 2 (Sept 11th) – Climb Carrantuohill.
Day 3 (Sept 12th) – Cycle from Killarney to the foot of Mount Brandon and then climb Mt Brandon
Day 4 (Sept 13th) – Cycle from Dingle to Killarney.

The Challenge is now entering its third year. Each team of five hoping to take part will have to raise a minimum of €2500 and upon registration each team will pay €500 of the €2500 to secure their place on the challenge.

Each team member will receive a 54321 challenge jersey and a pack outlining the full detail of the four day event.

Organisers are currently looking for any contribution that people can make to the cause through the fundraising page here.

The Kerry Cancer Support group operates a free bus service that allows those suffering from cancer to travel to Cork University Hospital (CUH) so that they can get their treatment.

The upcoming challenge therefore is vital to keeping this service going.

Please see more about the challenge and the people taking part on the Facebook page here or on the challenges website here.

If you wish to register a team of five or would like further information please call T.J O Connor on 087 6277141 or Carole Moran on 087 9471336.
