COVID Cases On The Rise Again In Tralee Local Electoral Area

THE number of new COVID-19 cases has risen again in the Tralee Local Electoral Area in the 14 day period up to Monday, November 122.

There were 413  new confirmed cases in that period compared to the 375 in the fortnight up to Monday, November 15, according to figures available on the Government’s COVID-19 data hub.

Tralee LEA has a 14-day incidence rate of 1,250 (up from 1135) per 100,000 of the population, but it’s still below the national incidence of 1,268.4 per 100,000 as of last Monday.

In all, there were 1,777  new cases recorded in Kerry during the fortnight period, up  from the 1,645 cases recorded in the fortnight up to November 15.

The LEA with the highest incidence in the county — and the only one of the six in Kerry above the national average — is the Killarney Electoral Area, which saw 500 new cases, a current 14-day incidence rate of 1688 per 100k of the population.

The Castleisland LEA saw 201 new cases and a rate of 1172 per 100,000.  Kenmare LEA with 273 new cases, a rate of 1089 per 100,000.

Listowel saw 258 new cases and a rate of 899.8 per 100,000. The Corca Dhuibhne Local Electoral Area saw 123 new cases and a rate of 867.4 per 100,000.

There have been 13,674 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Kerry, since the pandemic began according to the latest data.
