TRALEE Credit Union are now accepting student applications for their Education Awards worth €10,500.

Whatever year in college you are starting this month, one thing facing every student is the stress associated with financing the year ahead.

The significant cost of third level education has become a financial burden for many families and Tralee Credit Union is now trying to alleviate this by accepting online applications for their Education Awards and Dan Kellegher Memorial Awards on their website www.traleecu.ie

“The costs associated with college have never been so high,” saidd Fintan Ryan CEO of Tralee Credit Union. “There’s the increase in student registration fees, accommodation, utility bills, books, materials to be paid not to mention the day to day expenses. While planning ahead is the answer, for many families it’s not always possible. We see this every day, so far this year over 500 members have borrowed from us for college. The aim of these awards are to help our members. They are not a scholarship, they are not means tested, they are awards that are open to all our members going to college”.

Tralee Credit Union Awards are worth €10,500 where 7 lucky Tralee Credit Union members will receive €1,500 each towards their studies.

Five members are chosen for their Education Awards for students up to degree level and two members are chosen for their Dan Kellegher Memorial Awards for those studying at post graduate or masters level.

“If you are a Tralee Credit Union member and you are going to college then go to our website traleecu.ie and apply online. If you are not a member and are eligible to join, then open an account, not only will you be able to enter these awards but you’ll also have access to our wide range of financial services,” said Fintan Ryan.

Closing date for receipt of applications is Tuesday, September 30.
