CSO Data Reveals Tralee Live Register Figure Fell 15% In Past Year

THE number of people signing on the Live Register in Tralee in April has decreased by around 5% on the previous month according to the latest data from the  Central Statistics Office.

There were 3,665 people on the register in April, a decrease of 181 on March (3,846). It’s a 15% drop on the April 2017 figure of 4,301 (-636).

Countywide, the jobless figure in Kerry has fallen 13.5% in the past year with 8,177 people signing on in April.

Tralee recorded the largest numerical decrease of the seven social welfare offices in Kerry last month, but Dingle and Kenmare both had significant percentage decreases of around 20%.

Killarney dropped by 145 to 1,298, Dingle down 113 to 464, Listowel fell 88 to 1,493, Kenmare fell 69 to 300, Killorglin down 54 to 610, and Caherciveen decreased 41 to 347.
