A CHARITY fashion show will take place this Friday night in aid of three vital charities and organisations.

The event called ‘Dance 2 Destiny’ is being organised by Joanne Barry School of Performance and will aid Breast Cancer Research, Recovery Haven and Pieta House, the latter which is particularly important to Joanne.

“Pieta House is a charity close to my heart. I lost past pupils to suicide over the years. I was off sick with depression for two years myself so I now want to give back to the charities,” said Joanne Barry, who has been running dance schools for over 20 years.

“Joanne looks after the dancers’ physical health but she also sees the need to look after their mental health,” said Gillian Wharton Slattery.

“Joanne works with young people, teenagers in particular and she sees how life and peer pressure affects them. That’s why charities like Pieta House are so important,” said Gillian.

Tickets to the event, which takes place in the Fels Point Hotel at 8pm – preceded by a wine and cheese reception at 7.30 – are available in participating shops and are priced at €13 for adults and €10 for kids, for more information call 086-6662999.
