DAN Horan has been unveiled as the Grand Marshal for the 2018 St Patrick’s Day Parade which will take a new route this year starting at The Rose Hotel and finishing on the stunning, new-look Mall on Saturday 17th March.

He joined the Mayor of Tralee, Cllr Norma Foley to announce details of this year’s celebration of our national holiday which will bring much entertainment onto the streets of Tralee.

The Chairman of the St Patrick’s Day Parade Committee, Johnnie Wall, said: “Our annual parade will embrace the magnificently refurbished town centre with all participants parading along The Mall and finishing in The Square. It’s fitting that an enterprising individual such as Dan Horan should lead the parade. He opened his first store in Abbey Court in 1988 and now has 21 stores employing 81 people across Munster in Kerry, Cork, Limerick and Tipperary. We are expecting over 40 groups to take part in this year’s parade and they will all be encouraged to stay in town to enjoy some music, family fun and games until around 2.45pm. We look forward to another great gathering of Tralee communities.”
