AN inspirational event held in Tralee back in May raised a phenomenal amount of money for Pieta House, which they collected on Thursday evening from local organisers.

The Darkness Into Light Tralee walk raised €34,792.60 thanks to the thousands of participants who took off from CBS The Green on May 6.

The date for the 2018 is May 12 at 4.15am and registration this year will only be online, so keep an eye of the Darkness Into Light Tralee Facebook page for details by clicking here.

Glenbeigh will host a walk for the first time this year joining the seven other locations in Kerry.

Last year 150,000 people took part in walks in Kerry and around the country, to remember those lost to suicide and to highlight that there is help out there for people suffering with mental health issues.
