“It’s a raffle held every year in the school for the sports fund to help run all the sports activities. We have a very extensive extra-curricular programme for the kids as well,” said Principal, Mary O’Keeffe.
PE teacher, Gabriel Brennan explained how useful the 2014 was in getting new equipment.

“We raised about €4,000 last year in the draw. From the funds we got six gym machines, two new practise basketball stands on the outdoor courts and we had to re-line the indoor basketball court to come up to modern specifications,” he said.
The funds raised this year will go towards maintaining the full and varied programme which included yoga, pilates and tae-kwon do activities among others.
Students from the school have the raffle cards, so if you know anyone attending the school, you can buy a line off them for €3 to be in with a chance of winning the precious tickets.
The draw will be made on Thursday, September 17, in the Principal’s office.
