TWO Tralee musicians have organised a day of music on the streets of Tralee to remember Donal Walsh on the 5th anniversary of his death.

Willie Kelly and Jim O’Connor decided to a number of acts together, spread around The Mall and The Square, playing music during Saturday afternoon from 12 noon to around 5pm.

“We’ve about 25 to 30 acts organised to bring music to the town centre. We’ve jugglers, a gospel choir, face-painters and more for a free day of entertainment,” said Willie Kelly.

The acts will be positioned around the street and we’ll have all genres, rock, folk, trad, country and western…everything. Members of Tralee Rugby Club will be collecting funds for the Donal Walsh LiveLife Foundation and the club,” added Willie.

Meanwhile Donal’s fifth anniversary mass will be celebrated in Knock, Co. Mayo next Friday and will be filmed by RTE to be broadcast at 11am on Sunday, May 13 with around 3,000 students from around the country attending.

Also, Colin Poshey Aherne and Michael Pixie O’Gorman created something beautiful on the Nun’s Beach in Ballybunion yesterday as a tribute to Donal. See it in the video below…
