THERE is consternation on social media today at a photo of a dead cat which has been painted over by a truck line-painting the roads.
Animal Help Net Kerry uploaded the photo, taken in the Ballyheigue area, to their Facebook page this morning and it has been met with outrage online.
“When line painting was being done in the Ballyheigue area, nobody cared enough to move this poor cat who had been killed by a car and the line was painted over it. Shame on those concerned,” read the Animal Help Net Kerry post with the accompanying photo.
The photo clearly shows the cat’s paws covered with yellow paint.
The line-painting in the county is not done by Kerry County Council as the work is sub-contracted out.
