A TRALEE woman is holding a tasty event in town next week to help out a homeless charity.

Denise Hanbidge of Dee’s Delightful Bakes is putting on a Coffee/Cake Morning to help out Focus Ireland in the Imperial Hotel on Denny Street on Friday, October 26 from 10am to 11.30am.

“We like to support a charity during the year and the homeless situation is such a serious one now,” said Denise. “A lot of people are wary of giving money directly to homeless people now because of fears they are not legitimate, so we’re holding it for Focus Ireland who will ensure it goes to providing help for people who need it. Winter is coming and there are so many people in need right now, so I just want to do something to help them out,” said Denise.

People can come in that morning, enjoy cupcakes from Denise and scones and coffee supplied by The Imperial Hotel. There will be donation buckets where people are invited to contribute to Focus Ireland.

Derek Carroll of the Imperial Hotel said they were delighted to help. “Focus Ireland is a fantastic cause. Homelessness can happen to anyone these days, so it’s up to all of us to do our bit that might help someone get out of the misery that is being homeless.”
