TO coincide with Heritage Week and as part of Kerry County Council’s public consultation on the future of the former Denny factory site in Tralee, the Council will host a special information session for members of the public next Friday, August 26 from 12pm to 2pm in the temporary portacabin at the entrance to the Denny site.

The former bacon factory and the site itself has a long history of trade and employment and this story is very much part of the heritage of Tralee. Kerry County Council will put information and maps of historical interest on display which detail the history of the Island of Geese site.

A display of images of the interior of the factory as it looks today will also be available for public viewing.

Council officials will be on site to hear people’s views on what should be done with the facility in the years ahead as part of an ongoing public consultation process. Members of the public can fill in survey forms which are available on site.

The portacabin remains open from 12pm to 2pm daily throughout the Rose of Tralee International Festival.
