A MAN from the Mitchels area is the latest winner of the Cara Credit Union’s Members Car Draw.
Des Horan from Cloonmore, had his name picked out at their live members car draw on International Credit Union Day a few weeks ago.
Des will drive away with a brand new 182 Kia Stonic purchased from McElligotts, Tralee.
“I was down in the Credit Union that morning and was dealing with Derry [Fleming] so when he called me that afternoon to say I won a car, I didn’t believe him,” said Des. “I am driving a 2004 car, which is on its last legs so I can’t wait to drive this lovely new car,” he added.

Des, who regularly enters the car draw, said he has never bought a new car before so he is delighted and shocked at the win. He said he’s won the off few quid before, but has never had a win this big. He was joined by family members to be presented with the car by Cara Credit Union CEO, Pa Laide.

Cara Credit Union run their car draw four times a year at a cost of €6 per draw. Any surplus left over at the end of the year is raffled out to their car draw members in the form of cash prizes at Christmas time.
