THE 17th edition of Culture Night will take place on Friday, September 23 and an early call out has gone out to anyone interested in organising an event in Kerry to get in touch with Kerry County Council.
Culture Night is an annual all-island public event that celebrates culture, creativity and the arts. It is delivered nationwide as well as online.
Special events will be programmed at participating locations and, thanks to the continued support of the Arts Council as well as local authorities such as Kerry County Council, all activities are made available to the public free of charge.

“I see Culture Night as an opportunity to showcase the rich cultural heritage of Kerry and celebrate the new emerging talent that resides in the County,” said Hannah Pinckheard, Assistant Arts Officer at Kerry County Council.
“Culture Night is for everyone so I am working to build on past successes in order to create a programme for Culture Night Kerry that is diverse and provides a platform for culture in Kerry to be supported and celebrated.”
“The following list gives a taste of the wide range of people and institutions that help make Culture Night happen each year: the public, artists, performing groups, galleries, museums, sports clubs, libraries, arts centres, craft workers, studios and workshops, theatres, public spaces, broadcasters, schools, community groups, local authorities, government departments, state agencies and public bodies, transport companies, universities, shops and many more,” she said.
The Arts Office is asking for anyone interested in organising an event for Culture Night Kerry to get in touch at arts@kerrycoco.ie.
The Arts Council’s #PayTheArtist policy is being highlighted in terms of participation to ensure that artists who are invited to perform and participate are paid. If making an application, ensure all creatives and performers are supported.
