AFTER a great turnout on Easter Sunday morning last year, a dawn mass will once again be held in Annagh Burial Ground at 6am on April 1.

Organised by the Curraheen Liturgy Group, it is the second time a dawn mass will ever have been held in the area.

There will also be an Easter fire lighting ceremony to mark the resurrection.

“We were delighted with the success of last year’s mass, which drew people from far and wide, so we decided to go ahead with it this year again. There’s also a great community-building aspect to the occasion.” said Fr Francis Nolan.

“Annagh Cemetery is a significant landmark in the parish because it is an old Christian site and many locals are buried here. We will again have the lighting of the Easter fire which was magnificent last year,” said Fr Nolan.

After the Mass, everyone will adjourn to the church in Curraheen to enjoy refreshments and all are invited to attend on the morning.
