Eight New COVID-19 Cases In Kerry, 566 Nationally

THERE were eight new cases of COVID-19 reported for Kerry at the NPHET briefing this evening.

When the number is less than five, the exact number is not revealed until the following day on the COVID data hub.

There were 25 additional deaths and 566 more cases reported nationally.

The 14 day incidence of new cases for Kerry is 59.6 per 100,000 people. There have been 88 cases reported in the same period and the rolling five day average of cases is 9. Kerry is still the county with the lowest incidence of cases in the past 14 days. The national incidence rate over the past 14 days is 199.4.

233 in Dublin, 37 in Kildare, 30 in Meath, 25 in Donegal, 24 in Westmeath and the remaining 217 cases are spread across all other counties.

There have now been 221,189 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ireland and 4,357 people who died with the virus since the start of then pandemic.

As of 8am today, 489 Covid-19 patients are hospitalised, of which 114 are in ICU. There were 29 additional hospitalisations in the past 24 hours.

As of 28 February, 439,782 doses of Covid-19 vaccines have been administered in Ireland:

• 297,899 people have received their first dose
• 141,883 people have received their second dose
