Eight New Kerry Cases, 357 COVID-19 Cases Confirmed Nationally This Evening

THERE were eight new COVID-19 cases reported for Kerry over the past 24 hours.

While the total official number of cases for the county since the start of the pandemic did not rise and remains at 349, today’s rise will be added to the total tomorrow.

357 new cases over the past 24 hours were confirmed nationally by the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET) this evening.

218 are in Dublin, 18 in Louth, 12 in Waterford, 11 in Kildare, 9 in Cork,  8 in Kerry, 8 in Limerick, 8 in Meath, 7 in Westmeath, 6 in Wicklow, 5 in Offaly, 5 in Roscommon, 5 in Mayo, 5 in Tipperary and there remaining 32 cases in Carlow, Cavan, Clare, Donegal, Galway, Kilkenny, Laois, Leitrim, Monaghan, Sligo, Wexford. Longford is the only county in the Republic of Ireland to not report a case today.

The number of people who have tested positive for the virus in the Republic of Ireland so far, now stands at 31,549.

There were three additional deaths from the virus reported this evening in Ireland.  The total number of people who have died after contracting COVID-19 is 1,787.
